Kenny K'ore, born Kehinde Olumide Akinbode on August 11, 1979, in Ogun State, Nigeria, is one of Africa's most celebrated and enduring gospel artists. His name, “K'ore,” derived from the Yoruba phrase “Kuorire,” translates to “Congratulations” — a fitting title for an artist whose life and music are marked by divine favor, praise, and purpose. Every time his name is spoken, it is a declaration of joy, spiritual victory, and God's goodness.

Raised in a musically vibrant Christian household, Kenny's earliest encounters with sound were soaked in soul, spirit, and scripture. His formative years were shaped by the rhythms of gospel hymns and Afrocentric melodies played within his home and church. Music became more than a passion — it became his divine calling.

Kenny's musical destiny took flight in the early 2000s when he co-founded the iconic Nigerian gospel group Infinity alongside Joe Okougbo, David Thomas, Samson Nnogo, and Sunny Steve. The group was born out of youthful fellowship and a hunger to make spiritual worship more dynamic and relatable for Nigerian youth. What started in the church would soon become a gospel phenomenon that changed the landscape of African music.

Infinity broke through with their album Olori Oko, a cultural and spiritual milestone that became one of Nigeria's most impactful gospel albums. Written by Kenny K'ore, the title track “Olori Oko” (“The Bridegroom”) struck a chord across Africa and the diaspora. By 2007, the group had reportedly moved over 50 million CDs, making it one of the highest-selling gospel releases on the continent. The accompanying video for “Olori Oko” swept the 2007 Nigerian Music Video Awards, winning eight major categories in a single night. Today, the song has amassed over 500 million streams across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Spotify, and Apple Music — a staggering testament to its timeless relevance.

After over a decade with Infinity, Kenny stepped into his destiny as a solo artist in 2009. Signing with Blue Pie Records USA, he released Eledumare, a groundbreaking solo debut that boldly fused Yoruba language, Afro-gospel traditions, and alt-rock textures. The album featured hits like “So More” and “Yanibo,” and quickly garnered acclaim for its innovation, spiritual depth, and sonic boldness. In 2010, Eledumare Reloaded dropped with new anthems like “Yalako,” “Official Baby,” and “Press On,” further cementing his place as a visionary gospel pioneer.

Image Over the years, Kenny has continued to bless the world with powerful projects. Albums like NOAH Relentless (2014) and Burned Brass (2017) demonstrated both his lyrical maturity and spiritual depth. His compilation series The Hits Vol. 1-4 offered fans a curated journey through his most impactful songs. His discography has now notched up over 20 million global streams, not including his work with Infinity.

Known for his powerful vocals, dynamic range, and lyrical conviction, Kenny K'ore's style is deeply rooted in Afrocentric identity and spiritual urgency. He has pioneered a sound that bridges traditional gospel with rock, Afrobeat, and soul, creating a signature that is instantly recognizable. He is a gospel pop icon — full stop.

Outside the studio, Kenny is also a dedicated gospel minister based in Lagos. His motto, “Bridging the Extremities between Art and Spirit,” reflects his life's mission to create a seamless union between creative excellence and divine service. Whether leading worship, mentoring emerging artists, or performing across continents, Kenny's presence exudes purpose, passion, and peace.

Kenny K'ore's music isn't just about melody — it's ministry. He sings for the broken, the hopeful, the redeemed, and the seeking. His legacy is already being written in the hearts of millions who have been lifted, healed, and transformed by his sound.
